The Social Innovation in Health Initiative (SIHI) network aims to build global capacity and research evidence on social innovation in health.
SIHI Sweden is a platform for actors interested in exploring innovative ways to promote sustainable health to form collaboration, and work on new research ideas and evidence-based implementation of social innovations.
Hosting events and workshops on topics related to social innovation in health, and to serve as a platform for networking and knowledge sharing, are among the core activities of SIHI Sweden.
In October 2023, with the support of Forte, SIHI Sweden hosted the conference “Exploring Community Engagement for Social Innovation in Health”.
In the evaluation, attendees expressed highly positive feedback on the conference but indicated an interest to dive deeper into the entrepreneurial aspect of social innovation. Therefore, we are now planning a conference in November 2024 to address this need.
The conference will commence with international keynote speakers addressing the concept of ‘Entrepreneurship in social innovations in health’.
Following this, presentations will be held by research teams and non-academic partners representing social innovation projects that align with the theme. Delegates will be invited to submit posters on further projects relevant to SIHI Sweden.
After initial knowledge sharing, the conference will move to a knowledge generation phase whereby pertinent issues within the topic of entrepreneurship will be tackled collaboratively in a workshop format.
The conference will run over two days and targets researchers, students, entrepreneurs, policymakers and implementers in the private and public sectors, civil society and nonprofits. Around 100 participants are anticipated to attend. International knowledge exchange is fundamental to ensure that research drives social advancement.
For this reason, global SIHI hubs will be invited to participate online.
