Purpose and goal:
By exploring the official and unofficial cultural heritage, we seek knowledge on how future changes can be met and how the cultural heritage can contribute to long-term societal development. Good workers´ housing is part of this heritage, and we study what today´s workers´ housing can be. We involve civil society, associations, and the municipality in the process for feasibility and grounding.
The goal is a development and management plan based on inventory and analysis. A plan with key activities and prototypes that can be used to anchor development locally and within the municipality Expected results and effects:
The Örvik Group wants to prepare the area for imminent changes with the help of and in collaboration with civil society and associations connected to Örviken, its formal and informal cultural heritage, and municipal officials to jointly create a solution for sustainable, place-adapted societal transformation.
Approach and implementation:
The Örvik Group will work on collecting, analyzing, and disseminating historical and contemporary information about the area. At the same time, we will engage in discussions with key individuals in the area to define the unofficial cultural heritage and include the socio-historical perspective. The work integrates methods, knowledge, and perspectives from various fields, such as historical research, documentary creation, and architectural mediation.
Through an analysis and summary of the results, we will provide suggestions on how to proceed with the feasibility study.
