Purpose and goal:
The project´s aim is to showcase several different technologies that aim towards a safe introduction of automated driving and which will become part of TECoSA´s test bed at KTH´s campus. The testbed and technologies intend to build a stable foundation to be used in ongoing and future research projects with a particular focus towards the TECoSA project CART.
The objective is that the technologies become a successful part of the test bed and are actively used in various research projects. The project is also about spreading knowledge in these areas to members within TECoSA. Expected results and effects:
Expected effects are that a more attractive testbed can lead to more and better research projects in the future. In addition to purely TECoSA-financed projects it is expected that more project with external funding and industry participation will be done as an effect of the project. Expected results are successful integrations of the various technologies - algorithms for predicting future positions, mini-vehicles for testing self-driving functions, as well as how new risk assessment methods can be applied to the trials of autonomous vehicles in the test bed.
Approach and implementation:
To a large extent, the three different sub-projects will be carried out separately, but with some coordinating parts and with a common final presentation for the entire TECoSA centre. XENSE Vision´s work on predictions will include: - annotation and algorithm development - visualization of predictions
CanEduDev´s work on mini vehicles will include: - integration of sensors - 5G connection to the edge - motion planning and control Safety Integrity´s work with risk assessment will include: - evaluation of methods on CART functions - needs analysis of safety cases
