Purpose and goal:
In the short term, the project is expected to increase the precision of strategically important investments for precision medicine in Sweden, as well as promote collaboration around common goals in prioritized areas. The overall goal is to give residents of Sweden the best possible conditions for good health, by promoting the implementation of precision medicine, improving accessibility and quality in highly specialized prediction, prevention, diagnostics and treatment in Swedish healthcare and strengthening the long-term sustainability of research.
Expected results and effects:
It is expected to increase resource efficiency and the utilization of research and development as well as promote public health and social development in Sweden.
This is to be achieved through the development of a roadmap for the implementation of precision medicine in Swedish healthcare, The roadmap is to be developed through cross-sector collaboration, based on the current situation in Swedish healthcare and build on the work that has already taken place within the framework of national and regional cooperation structures and initiatives in Sweden.
Approach and implementation:
The project goals are achieved through collaboration between relevant actors and key stakeholders such as the state, national and regional collaborative structures, infrastructures and representatives from healthcare, business, authorities, universities and patient representatives. The inclusive way of working is a prerequisite for consensus and common focus around implementation challenges and prioritized areas for healthcare in the short, medium and long term.
