Responsible internationalisation for the establishment of international educational collaborations

Purpose and goal:

The aim is to increase awareness and a deeper understanding of responsible internationalisation with a focus on educational collaborations, while ensuring that opportunities of internationalisation are still utilised with as few restrictions as possible. The goal is to develop a proposal for an efficient, sustainable organization and process with a focus on international educational collaborations integrating information gathering, risk assessments, contact with expert authorities and a clear decision-making process in the event of goal conflicts.

Expected results and effects:

The expected result is that risk assessments will be expanded and integrated within existing processes and criteria´s for international educational collaborations, as well testing and establising an organization for information gathering, contacts with authorities and handling of possible goal conflicts with a clear escalation chain and decision-making process. The long term effects that arise are that we anchor and spread a culture where we work as openly as possible and as safely as necessary with all internationalisation work at the university.

Approach and implementation:

To achieve the purpose and goals, we will carry out study visits, benchmarking and information gathering from other universities and authorities. Workshops with operational support and school representatives will be organized to disseminate lessons learned from the study visits and the interim report, but also to do case exercises and train ourselves in risk assessments, what type of information we can collect ourselves, which authorities we need to contact for the risk assessments and to be able to test our process and organization as well as how we should handle goal conflicts.
