Purpose and goal: ** Denna text är maskinöversatt **
Our objective is to develop CAT-Fire, a pioneering wood stove technology for the power range up to 10 kW. Almost zero emissions, low costs for heat production (€0.17/kWh), minimal maintenance, maximum user comfort and a competitive price should make CAT-Fire a pioneering technology in the heating sector. At the heart of the CAT-Fire is an advanced combustion concept that fully utilizes the effects of primary emission control measures.
Expected results and effects: ** Denna text är maskinöversatt **
Wood burning stoves (LWS) are the most popular space heaters in private households in the EU, but they are often criticized for their high emissions. Dust emissions in particular are of great concern for people´s health. To combat air pollution, very strict CO, OGC and dust emission limits for LWS have recently been introduced in Germany and Italy, which cannot be met with conventional technology.
To remain competitive, we want to significantly reduce emissions and establish CAT-Fire as a new, clean and sustainable solution for room heating. Approach and implementation: ** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The methodological approach is based on three main pillars: Process simulation, CFD (computational fluid dynamics)
Experimentell FoU at lab reactors and prototypes Accompanying risk assessments and techno-economic as well as ecological analyses
By using the latest CFD simulation tools, measures for low-emission operation shall be investigated in detail. Thereby, relevant insights can be obtained.
Både BIOS and Catator have long experience of such simulations from many previous developments of combustion processes and catalysts.
