Grant Description
Abstract:The purpose of this program is to facilitate mobility and collaboration between ESS and ORNL as a part of an MoU between the Swedish Research Council (VR) and the Department of Energy (DOE).
Being large-scale, high-intensity spallation sources, ESS and SNS at ORNL have many common interests and challenges, in technology as well as scientific applications, and enhanced collaboration promises to be mutually beneficial. This program focusses on three main themes: WP1. Neutron moderator studiesWP2.
Particle physics with neutronsWP3.
Neutron science instruments These are themes where the two facilities have multiple areas of common interest and potential benefit, and collaborative work has already been initiated.
This program will enhance and expand collaborations and enable new ones by providing mobility funds that are not otherwise available.
