Grant Description

The project is supported under the Development Grants Program.

The project will aim to restore the lives and livelihoods of the returnee population, to strengthen resiliency at the household level and to accelerate the resettlement process in key areas of the Northern Province.

Livelihoods will be focused on specialised and high value crops (eg. cashew, subsidiary crops); working with local farmer and fisheries associations and building their capacities and working with communities to improve infrastructure such as irrigation, shelters and community buildings.

With the re-establishment of sustainable livelihoods, resettled communities will be able to improve their socio-economic conditions and reduce their dependency on donor assistance.
