Grant Description

Feed the Future (FTF) funds will support Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services Cluster Development Initiative Limited to pilot the successful Indian small holder dairy production system innovations in Kenya. Various successful Indian dairy innovations are currently being customized, adopted and replicated.

Dairy farming households are federated into dairy cooperatives and their capacities are being built through training and exposure visits on various aspects of animal management and milk production.

To strengthen downstream milk value chains, necessary equipment will be provided, including milk-processing unit, milk-testing equipment, milk dispensers, insulated milk tankers, artificial insemination equipment and facilities for strengthening extension and service delivery.

The program will also facilitate training on extension and service delivery agents to improve their efficiency and dairy sector productivity.
