Grant Description

The activity focuses on building business skills, expanding producers' technical capacity, and strengthening linkages to local, regional, and international markets for ethnic Tibetans in China.

By focusing on multiple, complementary livelihoods opportunities - for example, yak and sheep herding, marketing services, as well as handicrafts that can be pursued during slow times in the agricultural calendar - the activity aims to create synergies that will make a significant contribution to the income available to Tibetan communities.

In order to achieve these results, the activity will develop community-specific livelihoods strategies and improve Tibetan entrepreneurship and businesses.

Improvements will be made through market readiness training and business development workshops, market-driven production development and design innovation, and improved market development and buyer linkages.
