Grant Description

The activity focuses specifically on environmental conservation and addresses environmental challenges by building local capacity to assess potential natural resource management issues.

Interventions will determine economically and environmentally viable land use options, and sustaining many natural resource-based livelihood options for the targeted Tibetan populations.

This will include work in rangeland, watershed and livestock management including veterinary care, as well as the production of non-timber forest products and improved household energy efficiency to reduce deforestation.

The activity's anticipated impacts include improved environmental resource management and use, thereby sustaining Tibetan traditional livelihoods and culture, focusing on income for Tibetans with a particular focus on women.
