USAID Laos Microenterprise Activity

In Lao PDR, funds will be used to increase access to economic opportunity for micro-enterprises, particularly those in the agricultural sector.

Activities will assist microfinance institutions and/or other financial intermediaries to improve access to financial services that are tailored to the needs of microenterprises; reduce regulatory, policy, and administrative barriers that limit growth opportunities for microenterprises; build capacity for microenterprises to improve quality, productivity, employment, and market potential; and work to link microenterprises into new and growing markets for their products.

By building linkages between microenterprises and larger firms, microenterprises will be able to access necessary value chain infrastructure such as technology and machinery.
