The Expanding Lebanons Labor Force (ELLF) Program is an initiative to be implemented on behalf of USAID/Lebanon.
This 36-month, $2 million initiative will build and link to existing USAID investments in private sector development in Lebanon to integrate gender-specific, gender-appropriate economic empowerment elements in support of womens enterprise development.
The ELLF Programs flagship is the womens enterprise capacity building and certificate program, which offers women entrepreneurs enrolled in other USAID-funded investments a gender-specific pathway to achieving a certificate in enterprise creation and growth.
The ELLF Programs goal is that Lebanese women become effective catalysts of entrepreneurial development for their businesses and families in a time of economic crisis.
A cooperative agreement with Lutheran World Relief (LWR) to implement the ELLF activity in Lebanon will start on July 20, 2020 for a total budget of US$ 2 million, with $1.5 million to be provided as funding from USAIDs Womens Global Development and Prosperity (W-GDP) Incentive Fund in Washington, and the remaining $500,000 to be provided as leverage/cost share from the implementing partner and/or other sources.
