Grant Description

Turengere Abana ('Let Us Protect Children') seeks to help vulnerable households escape poverty.

This is done by providing a comprehensive package of support, helping households and community groups develop livelihood programs and lasting sources of income, and building sustainable community social networks and referral mechanisms.

The goal of this activity is to reduce the vulnerability and HIV incidence among orphans and vulnerable children and their households, and adolescent girls and young women.

USAID Igire - Turengere Abana reaches the households of the target populations to provide services and support and help develop livelihoods programs for lasting sources of income.

In addition, USAID Igire - Turengere Abana supports and strengthens sustainable community social networks and referral mechanisms.

A particular focus is on DREAMS (Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-free, Mentored, and Safe) beneficiaries, who receive a comprehensive package of health and social services that empowers them to stay HIV free.
