Grant Description

This project will research the Ashmolean Museum's Minoan collection and Arthur Evans archive to better understand Evans' vision of the Minoans.

I will focus this topic by reviewing how his ideas, especially his interpretation of Minoan religion, were influenced by objects displaying plant motifs and iconography.
