Grant Description

APHIS was invited to participate at the Good Emergency Management Practice (GEMP) workshop in Entebbe, Uganda, November 27-30, 2011. APHIS facilitated at the workshop and previously worked with the CMC to design the training.

Representatives from Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, the OIE, AU-IBAR, AFENET, EPT/RESPOND, USDA, and USAID attended the workshop.

Participants addressed the following topics at the workshop, introduction to GEMP, command and management structures, planning and preparedness, key elements of response, recovery, and implementing GEMP principles
