Grant Description

The meeting brought together 8 national plant protection orgranizations (NPPO) including in central Africa and non-governmental organizations including the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, the Center for Agriculture and Bioscience Information (CABI) and the Inter-African Phytosanitary Council of the African Union (AU-IAPSC).

APHIS provided an overview of the North American Plant Protection Organization (NAPPO) including its organization, functioning, funding, and activities.

The purpose of themeeting is to set the basis of the creation of a regional of NPPOs and Partners Platform and to validate its missions, functioning and operating instruments.

In total the workshop included 21 participants including 8 Central Africa NPPOs and regional partner institutions (ECCAS, AU-IAPSC, CABI, FAO ..).
