Grant Description

WS is collaborating on two projects in the Ukraine providing training on surveillance for African Swine Fever (ASF) in wild boars.

The first is collaborating with FAS to strengthen Ukraines wildlife management and disease surveillance program, provide WS experts with firsthand experience in control of ASF, promote effective and efficient use of samples, and strengthen existing response system to EDP outbreaks in wildlife. A Ukraine delegation participated in a workshop WS held in Colorado and Texas to exchange information.

WS, along with VS, is collaborating on the other project with Southern Research Institute to provide training on sample collection from wild boars and diagnostic procedures. Two WS and one VS SME visited Ukraine to exchange information
