From April 10-13, 2016, APHIS IS Participated in the Priority Zoonotic and Animal Disease Recognition and Response Workshop in Georgetown Guyana.
The University of the West Indies, through its European Union funded One Health, One Caribbean, One Love project, and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), through its European Union funded Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) project, organized the third in a series of national training workshops aimed at training the Guyana Veterinary Services and selected livestock producers on Priority Zoonotic and Animal Disease Recognition and Response.

Alejandro Perera (APHIS IS Mexico) participated presenting 2 topics: 1) Bovine Tuberculosis (TB) and 2) Brucellosis (BR).
APHIS participation focused on providing information on bovine TB/BR programs in cattle populations and the potential impact in human populations.
