CaribVET network aims to improve the animal health and the quality and safety of animal products throughout the Caribbean.
Members of the network include veterinary services, veterinary laboratories, government agencies, research institutes, farmers associations, NGOs and universities mainly from the Caribbean but also from North, Central or South American countries.
CaribVet is organized in several working groups including the "Laboratory diagnostics and quality assurance and Diagnosis Working Group (Lab WG)". The second meeting of the Lab. WG meeting was held on September 12, 2012 following the Final workshop of FAO TCP H1N1 surveillance project.
APHIS-NVSL has been active in the Lab Working Group, which is composed of officials of several countries of the Caribbean.
The terms of reference of the "Assurance quality and diagnostic working group meeting" are: Contribution to the development of the principles of laboratory quality insurance in the region.
