Under the USDA/APHIS cooperative agreement with Tuskegee University, School of Veterinary Medicine, Center for Epidemiology and Computational Biostatistics for FY 2011, an effort to combine Risk Analysis expertise from APHIS, PPQ-CPHST, Veterinary Services/CEAH, and Tuskegee University was made for a two-week training workshop that was held in South Africa for participants from Southern Africa in an introduction to Risk Analysis for Plant Health, Animal Health and Food Safety.
Participants from regulatory agencies and universities in the region participated in applications of Risk Analysis to Strengthen SPS Capacity for Southern African countries through science-based risk analysis training and advance long term partnerships between Tuskegee University, USDA and the governments/universities industries organizations of Africa and other developing countries.
