USDA APHIS provided funding to the University of Delaware's Emergency Poultry Disease Response Course.
The course focused on three critical aspects of successfully managing poultry disease outbreaks, emphasizes rapid response techniques of depopulation, disposal and decontamination.
Experts from the University of Delaware, Poultry Producers and State/Federal Governments addressed cooperation issues and strategic planning to address emergency poultry disease outbreak situations. 16 participants from 16 countries attended, with a focus on African countries.
