Under the USDA APHIS supported Greater Caribbean Safeguarding Initiative, A regional workshop on Thysanopteran Pest of Economic Importance to the Caribbean region was implemented October 1 - 5, 2012. 16 countries were invited and approximately twenty persons attended the training including about four from Tortola, BVI.
The workshop was held in the British Virgin Islands and on Tortola specifically at the H. Lavity Stoute Community College.
The workshop was held in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture in the British Virgin Islands and the Florida International Volunteer Corps (FAVACA).
