The objectives of the ITAD course are to: 1.
Introduce participants to the major emerging and transboundary animal diseases that impact the trade of animals and animal products worldwide. 2.
Provide hands-on learning applications and conduct post mortem examination of animals while adhering to applied principles of biosecurity and biosafety. 3.
Engage participants to conduct presentations on animal disease issues in their countries of origin as a way to share experiences. 4.
Build a cadre of veterinarians capable of recognizing transboundary animal diseases and to support disease control and eradication efforts worldwide.
