On October 11-13, the CVB hosted the International Workshop on Alternative Methods for Human and Veterinary Rabies Vaccine Testing: State of the Science and Planning the Way Forward at the National Centers for Animal Health.
This workshop, organized by the National Toxicology Program Interagency Center for Evaluation of Alternative Toxicology Methods and the Interagency Coordinating Committee on the Validation of Alternative Methods, will bring together international experts from regulatory agencies, academia, and industry to focus on reviewing current methods of rabies vaccine testing and to propose efforts necessary to implement an in vitro rabies potency test.
