Grant Description

FAS collaborated with APHIS and partners from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) to create a twinning partnership between the National Veterinary Center (NVC) in Astana and an existing OIE reference laboratory for Brucellosis in Italy.

APHIS traveled to Astana to assist Kazakhstan with the OIE application process to create a formal twinning arrangement. The process is overseen by the OIE.

The international laboratory partner will collaborate with NVC to enhance diagnostic capacity and expertise, with a particular focus on Brucellosis.
