Grant Description
USDA-APHIS supported the establishment of the South American Network of Avian Influenza and Newcastle Disease Diagnostic Laboratories - RESUDIA - in 2014 to strengthen the capacity of reference laboratories to diagnose avian influenza and the disease of Newcastle in the region.
OIE designated a RESUDIA laboratory as a reference laboratory for avian influenze and Newcastle disease in May 2016, a significant accomplishment.
Through this current project, APHIS will assist RESUDIA with it's next priority, the definition of mechanisms for production and distribution of reference materials and proficiency testing or interlaboratory tests within RESUDIA.
