Grant Description

APHIS participated in a training program for Paraguay Plant Heath Service (SENAVE) officials, in coordination with Interamerican Institute for Ag Cooperation (IICA) and the University of Asuncion.

The training program involved a series of lectures given by APHIS on topics including basic aspects of trade of agricultural products (including risk assessments), market access and rulemaking, phytosanitary treatments for pest mitigation, as well as inspection activities conducted in the United States to protect U.S. agriculture.

A total of 38 local inspectors participated in this training.
