Activity 1: A representative from the Center for Veterinary Biologics (CVB) attended the Regional Seminar for OIE National Focal Points for Veterinary Products in Mombasa, Kenya. This seminar is part of a global program of capacity building for OIE Delegates and OIE National Focal Points.
The seminar provided participants with knowledge on the OIE activities linked to veterinary products, the rights and responsibilities of OEI Delegates and their national Focal Points, the rights and obligations of OIE Members in trade, and several other aspects relevant for the production and use of veterinary products.
The APHIS CVB Director, as a representative of USDA, and the official OIE-recognized USDA Focal Point for Veterinary Medicinal Products, was invited to give a presentation at the workshop on the regulation of veterinary biologics in the U.S. There were 43 participants at the seminar.
Activity 2: Training was conducted by NVSL-FADDL on diagnostic PCR techniques at the Joint Biosciences Eastern and Central Africa-International Livestock Research Institute-Foreign Animal Disease Dia
