APHIS has supported efforts in South American countries to strengthen biosecurity at livebird markets and to improve surveillance and emergency preparedness for avian influenza, starting with projects conducted in 2014.
This project aims at leveraging previous efforts by strengthening the field surveillance to ensure the timely investigation of suspicious cases and the collection of samples for diagnosis.
This workshop workshop aims at sharing and harmonizing surveillance approaches for HPAI to ensure the appropriate collection of samples and early detection of HPAI outbreaks.
