This workshop aims to increase regional capacity to combat the spread of citrus greening in southern Africa and includes training in surveillance, response, and management for entomologists, plant pathologists and industry stakeholders.
The workshop is also intended to bolster communication between relevant stakeholders, so that information related to citrus greening, and other emerging pests and diseases, can be more effectively shared.
Slowing and limiting the spread of both the pathogen and its insect vector will result in more favorable outcomes for commercial and smallholder citrus producers. Note: This activity is tentatively planned and may be delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.
