Grant Description

Activity 1: From January 18 20, 2012, the Thai National Institute of Animal Health (NIAH) organized the Workshop on Laboratory Bio risk Management in Bangkok.

The workshop was attended by 42 Thai participants including veterinarians and scientists from NIAH, seven Regional Veterinary Research and Development Centers, the OIE Regional Reference Laboratory for Foot and Mouth Disease in South East Asia in Pakchong, and the Bureau of Quality Control of Livestock Products.

Two technical experts from the Department of Medical Sciences, Ministry of Public Health conducted the workshop.

Participants gained a practical understanding of how to implement bio risk management strategies to minimize risks of infections through safe and secure practices in laboratories; Activity 2: APHIS Bangkok facilitated the donation of 50 copies of the Illustrated guide to Poultry Necropsy and Diagnosis to the Thai National Laboratory and the Thai Regional Laboratories.

Activity 3:APHIS Bangkok attended the 2nd Thailand National One Health Forum Strengthen the network and lets move forward
