The Plant Health Systems Analysis Course is designed to illustrate how the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) confronts challenges posed by global and domestic plant health issues.
The two-week course includes an overview of APHIS, interactions with other Federal and State agencies, international organizations, foreign governments, industry, and the general public in order to address plant health issues of mutual concern.
Field trips to the National Plant Germplasm Inspection Station in Beltsville, Maryland, Port of Entry Plant Inspection facilities and Domestic Plant Health and research activities are also included. At the end of the course, participants assess how their organizations respond to plant health issues
