APHIS supported the instructor at Workshop on Zoonoses and Public Health Response. The workshop on Zoonoses and Public Health Response was held in Savarnakhet, Laos.
It was organized by Kenan Institute Asia under the USAID-funded Greater Mekong Sub-region Responses to Infectious Diseases Project.
There were 72 participants including provincial and district level public health officials and animal health officials from Savarnakhet, Laos, and Mukdaharn, Thailand.
The participants learned basic knowledge and understanding of zoonotic diseases endemic in the region and response to public health events. A representative from APHIS Bangkok presented on parasitic zoonoses and facilitated a group exercise.
