Through this Interagency Agreement, the Foreign Agriculture Service (FAS) will support Latin American and Caribbean countries with enhancing their capacities to prevent, detect, and control African swine fever (ASF) and classical swine fever (CSF).
The assistance provided will have both regional and bilateral scope to further strengthen capacities, complement the existing networks and collaborative efforts.
Coordination of all stakeholders to align activities, leverage limited resources and develop cohesive messaging is critical to respond to and control disease.
FAS will implement the project through the use of technical advisors that target specific in-country needs and assist in the identification of a larger strategic approach within the scope of their specialty; conferences and seminars; and short-term scientific exchanges.
