Grant Description

The project will withdraw from work or prevent approximately 2,700 children from engaging in exploitative labor in the coal mining, gold mining, animal herding, and informal sectors (including commercial sex and scavenging) through a range of interventions including rehabilitation services such as non-formal education and counselling; linkages with local medical and community services; and access to income generating opportunities for at least 400 families of working children.

The project will also aim to prevent child labor through awareness raising and community mobilization, and will seek to enhance the capacity of public and private partners and concerned agencies at all levels (national and local, institutional, organizational, community) to plan, initiate, implement, monitor, and evaluate action to combat child labor. - Through International Labour Organisation.
