Grant Description

In the context of Malaysia's then-possible entrance into the TTP, the overall objective of this project is effective governmental development and enforcement of new or existing laws, decrees or regulations, and other legal instruments, achieving the following outcomes: 1.

National government drafts laws, decrees and regulations, and other legal instruments as agreed upon in the consistency plan, with respect to freedom of association, collective bargaining, and employment discrimination; 2.

National government educates employers /employers' organizations, workers/workers' organizations, and the public on the laws and regulations; 3.

National government undertakes necessary institutional changes and capacity building to implement laws, regulations, and other legal instruments, including improving the efficiency and effectiveness of labor inspections; 4.

Relevant criminal system authorities effectively administer and enforce the new laws, decrees and regulations, and other legal instruments enacted by the government as agreed upon in the consistency plan.
