By drawing on scholarship at the intersection between sensory, legal and urban geographies, this research aims to fill

empirical and theoretical lacunas relating to waste infrastructure and legislation in New York City. Through considering the paradoxes of law's inherently visual gaze and justice's blindness, it would explore the sensorial experiences and evidence presented by many "overburdened communities".
