My research aims to examine the political ecology of the post-war British food system, and the ways in which military and business interests fostered an unsustainable and socially-inequitable model of "self-sufficient" development in agriculture.
It will examine how the dominant nexus of state, business and military set research agendas, and justified and implemented its model, and how this model was challenged by emergent minority tendencies of organics and natural systems agriculture.
