My proposed research is centred on parent-professional relationships for parents of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), viewed through the lens of social class. Previous research on parent-professional relationships has typically found that middle class parents are better placed to engage with schools and secure
support for their children, than their working-class counterparts (e.g. Crozier, 2001). Through my research, I aim to explore the extent to which these findings are applicable to the experiences of parents of children with SEND from middle-, and working-class backgrounds.
