Grant Description

We will advance the modelling framework to integrate multiple regenerative agriculture alternative scenarios in an ecohydrological and soil biogeochemical model that the groups of Paschalis and Buytaert have been advancing for the last decade. We will validate the models in partnership with Nestle and the data they will provide from their farmlands.

The novelty will be the development of the first microbially explicit model that integrated crop dynamics, plant physiology and soil biogeochemistry with regenerative agriculture practices, with a potentially high impact leading to a design tool for best agricultural practices for soil health and water quality in farmlands.
