This PhD will focus on the development of instrumentation and techniques to assess, evaluate, and ultimately reduce temperature change and temperature gradients in lithium-ion battery packs, whilst maintaining safe operating temperature. This will impact the design of future lithium-ion cells and thermal management systems.
This will lead to the growth of a more sustainable battery industry by creating safer, more costeffective, and longer-lasting battery packs.
