Terbium tantalate is a recently discovered candidate quantum magnetoelectric which orders antiferromagnetically at 2.25 K and displays an enhancement of dielectric response at low temperatures in external magnetic field. My work will focus on understanding the exact nature of coupling between magnetic and charge degrees of freedom.
Furthermore, I will study the effect of pressure on the material, with the aim of tuning it to the quantum critical regime.
