Grant Description

An auto-ethnographical, duo-methods approach to exploring the experiences of three counsellors working with three female teenage trauma victims who display autistic symptoms. This duo-methods study will investigate the impact of trauma on girls displaying autistic symptoms by exploring the narratives of fellow children counsellors and CAMHS

practitioners through semi-structured interviews whilst reflecting on my past and present experiences from an auto-ethnographical stance. The study aimed to Explore the experiences of three counsellors working with three female teenage trauma victims who showed autistic symptoms. The study's objectives were to use written and oral data to investigate

the impact of trauma on girls presenting as autistic. Consider the impact of economic background and identify if the elimination of ECM in England has been detrimental to this cohort of people. The methods used in the auto-ethnological part of the research are reflections of significant memories when

working with the young person from the client, parent, and agencies that work with the child. Reflective diaries were used to remember themes and symbols from sessions.
