My research will focus on the statistical theory of viscoelasticity in complex polymer networks.
This will include the development of a microscopic theory of liquid crystal elastomers (LCEs) - networks of cross-linked liquid crystalline polymers.
Though LCEs are well studied, it has recently become clear that current models cannot adequately explain some of their observed properties, my research aims to address this.
