Effective and focal non-invasive deep brain stimulation using TUS is possible through accurate modelling of the head and focusing of the ultrasound through the skull to target specific nuclei.
We have developed a method for producing personalised acoustic lenses based on the participant's MRI scans, k-Wave computational model, and a simulation of the ultrasound field.
In this project, we aim to improve TUS modelling to reach more challenging brain areas (through thick areas of the skull) by using small arrays of transducers. Our main target of interest is the cerebellum.
