Studying symmetries of objects is ubiquitous in mathematics. In the modern mathematical language, this is called group actions. Group actions on C*-algebras generalise group actions on topological spaces, and the crossed product operation corresponds to taking the quotient of a space by an action. This project concerns C*-algebras that arise from two main
One is from the Classification Programme of C*-algebras, where the current research concerns actions of finite groups on classifiable C*-algebras. The other arises from the study of actions of non-positively curved groups on the relevant boundaries. In both cases, one is interested in the structure and K-theory of the corresponding crossed product C*-algebras, and this is the aim of this project.
