The UK has invested significant funding to transition quantum theories into quantum products to create a quantum-enabled economy within the next 10-years,to revolutionise healthcare, energy, transport, and many other sectors.
Working closely with the National Physical Laboratory (NPL), this project will aim to develop novel approaches, methods and tools to engineer and integrate revolutionary quantum technologies, for example, embedding quantum sensors, clocks and encryption in a quantum communication network.
The student will learn systems thinking and methodologies, and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) approaches to system development in the first year of the PhD programme. The details of the research topic will be proposed by the student, in collaboration with NPL.
