Grant Description

On February 24, 2014, Deputy Director of the China Civil Aviation Authority Xia Xinghua and Secretary of the Nepal Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Ministry Sushil Ghimire signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on air transport services on behalf of their respective governments.

Under the MOU, the two sides agreed to significantly expand traffic rights and the number of direct flights between the two countries.

Additionally, the Chinese side permitted Nepali carriers to fly to Xian for the first time and agreed to provide Nepal with technical assistance in the areas of flight operation, aircraft maintenance, safety oversight, air traffic management, security, and Communications, Navigations, Surveillance (CNS) facilities.
