Grant Description

In 2014, Pena Nieto announced that China and Mexico would set up a $2.4-billion infrastructure investment fund that could eventually rise to $9 billion to invest in private companies in Mexico. China's contribution to the fund and the sub-projects of the fund are unclear. IFC reports the fund has invested in both the telecom and the oil and gas industries.

Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
